  High Borrans lies a few miles east of Windermere, a small hamlet tucked between the valleys of Troutbeck and Kentmere. For walking it is a fine base, with access to fells for both moderate and long treks, with routes leading as far as Wansfell, High Street and Haweswater. Closer to home the setting is peaceful and ideal for a relaxed stay. A two mile walk brings you to the Watermill Inn, a fine traditional pub and a regular winner of the CAMRA best pub award. A short drive brings you to Windermere and Bowness where you have shops, inns, restaurants, cafes and the lake for boat hire and steamer trips. This little bothy has been transformed into an exciting contemporary space offering a quiet and special retreat for two. The ground floor is open plan with timber floor and high ceiling. Your sitting room area has a plump leather sofa, table and chairs at which to dine, dimmable lighting to set the mood and a fabulous wide flat screen television with hard wired built in surround sound serving all the home entertainment equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped, easy to use and perfect for creating those light lunches and romantic dinners. The bathroom is a place to relax, with a large, deep double ended bath and wet room shower. The stairs lead up to a mezzanine bedroom with a low contemporary bed set under the pitched roof. This is a perfect holiday home for couples, where great thought has gone into the design and furnishings making it for me a very special place.
