| As more visitors seek peace from the crowds, villages such as Lindale are a welcome retreat.Set in the north east corner of the Cartmel Peninsular, it offers easy access to the coastal areas, yet is only four miles from the foot of Windermere and Fell Foot Park for lazy days swimming, fishing or boating on the lake. The village, with its delightful traditional lakeland buildings, offers two friendly pubs and a village store for many day to day needs. At nearby Cartmel there are shops to explore, the medieval priory, four pubs and a fantastic restaurant, L’Enclume, promising diners a gastronomic experience! Owners Ann and Keith have completely refurbished this little terraced cottage to offer guests contemporary, stylish and easy living yet retaining a snug cottage feel. The front entrance leads into the open plan sitting, dining and kitchen space. Light and airy by day, the mood can be softened with the glow and warmth of the living flame gas fire and of course a few romantic candles. A step leads up to a fully equipped kitchen for easy and convivial preparation of those candle lit dinners to come. Up stairs are the two bedrooms, very comfortable, well furnished, one a double the other a twin. The bathroom has bath with overhead shower, hand basin and WC. From the kitchen you step out into a ‘well’ with spiral steps leading to the raised terrace garden, bathed in sunshine and perfect for a barbecue.
