You will find few places that will give such a deep sense of the power and beauty of Lakelands landscape as the Tent Lodge Estate. Steeped in historical connections it has been home and inspiration to such poets, writers and artists as Turner, Arthur Ransome and Lord Alfred Tennyson.
Today the Estate offers a selection of holiday homes and cottages to suit all party sizes, set in one of the finest locations in the central Lake District. Here, each cottage is a short distance from the private waters edge, where the view is filled by the high peaks of Coniston’s mountain range, reflected in deep waters.

The Estate lies at the north east head of Coniston Water, the properties and grounds set a little above the lake, where a twenty acre meadow sweeps down to the waters edge.
There are three jetties which at, for a small fee, guests may moor their own boats or hire rowing, sailing or powered boats from the Coniston Boating Centre. With eight hundred yards of shore line to explore and the whole lake to muck about on, in and by, you have the ideal recipe for the perfect Lakeland holiday.
The village of Coniston lies about a mile and half around the lake, offering shops, cafes and a number of good pubs serving locally brewed ale.
From the village, tracks lead up through the old coppermines valley and to the foot of Coniston Old Man, where the hearty can make an attempt to the 2635 ft summit and view never to be forgotten.
Tent Lodge Cottage
Tent Lodge Cottage and its adjoining cottages are all situated on the west side of the lane on the Tent Lodge Estate. They are set around the central courtyard bounded by Tinkler Beck Farm and Cottage.
From the kitchen you have your own enclosed patio garden, with garden furniture.
The short walk across the meadow brings you to the lake shore and the private jetties.
Of this group of three adjoining cottages, Tent Lodge Cottage is the more contemporary. From the little walled patio you step into an open plan
sitting room and kitchen/dinning area. To one end is the well equipped kitchen, making for easy catering and pleasant dining. To the other the sitting room area has soft lighting, two sofas and it is comfortable to relax around the open fire after a day on the lake or in the fells and forest.
Upstairs are two bedrooms; the master double is bright and airy with views of the lake; the twin overlooks the main courtyard to Tinkler Beck.
The bathroom is well appointed with bath, overhead shower, hand basin and wc.
Outside there is a little walled garden area and of course the meadow and lake shore to while away the days and gaze out on one of the finest lake views.
